Steeped in the Yorkshire woollen mills and with a family heritage of clothing design and production, Patricia Smith was destined to follow those traditions. Learning to sew, knit, embroider and smock was a natural part of her childhood. Later, refining those skills with a Swiss couturier and time spent with a French baby carrier producer, it was children’s clothes that captured her imagination.
For over 25 years Patricia Smith has been designing two collections a year. Selling quietly through mail order, occasionally in selective retail stores and the internet. Using only the finest European fabrics and small-scale traditional production methods, these classically-styled garments continue to be enjoyed by a new generation worldwide.
